Bio

Max Sieger studied Material Science at the Technical University of Dresden, where he obtained his degree in 2013. During his studies he worked at Production Technology Centre and Volvo Aero in Trollhättan (Sweden) for one semester.

During his PhD time at the Leibniz-Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW) Dresden he conducted research on high-temperature superconducting tapes in the EUROTAPES project.

 

Beginning of 2018 he joined the Superconducting Materials and Large Scale Nanostructures group of ICMAB.

  • Buffer layers
  • Coated conductors (ABAD, IBAD, ISD, RABiTS)
  • Pulsed laser deposition of functional oxide films (REBCO high-temperature superconductors with artificial pinning structures)
  • Chemical deposition of functional oxide films (REBCO high-temperature superconductors with artificial pinning structures)
  • Structural and electrical characterization (AFM, EBSD, EDX, SEM, XRD and texture measurements, inductive measurements, transport current measurements)
