Research Fields:


The main activity in last ten years has been developed in the field of Molecular and Supramolecular Organic Materials being addressed to the molecular design, chemical synthesis, structural and electronic characterization, material preparation, and study of new materials -either molecular solids or films- showing useful electrical, magnetic, and optical properties. During this time it has been emphasized all structural and electronic aspects of open-shell molecules free radicals and radical ions- trying to develop new organic materials with interesting physical properties. The discovery and development of new procedures and strategies to obtain and study such materials has been another goal of the work. The understanding of molecular and electronic interactions as well as the discovery of mechanisms that control such interactions have motivated the research. All this knowledge is now on the basis of the molecular electronics development. The principal areas of interest are: Organic metals, p electron donors and acceptors, molecular magnetism, free radicals, high-spin molecules, supramolecular chemistry, crystal engineering, electron and energy transfer processes, molecular electronics, molecular nanoscopic aggregates, and ESR spectroscopy
