My name is Yannick Roselló and I come from Mallorca, from the University of the Balearic Islands, Chemistry Department. I’ll be staying at ICMAB for a while to do my master final research project about cocrystallization of nitrogenated bases and their derivates under the supervision of the Crystalography Group. I’m very happy for this new experience and I can’t wait to meet you all at ICMAB!
Hi! I'm Agustin, and I'm a PhD student from Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is my first time in Barcelona. I’m going to be here for one month and I will learn how to characterize ferroelectric thin films with the group of Josep Fontcuberta. In my free time I like playing videogames, reading a lot of books and spending time with my girlfriend and my friends.
I am Miquel from Palafrugell (Girona). I am a final year student of Nanoscience and nanotechnology degree in UAB and I will be doing my final year project at ICMAB in the Solid State Chemistry group under the supervision of Stefania Sandoval.
About me... I like traveling, hanging out, sports, playing chess and watching series and movies.
Hope to see you around!!
Hello! I'm Josep and I am from Parets del Vallès. I'm a chemistry student in UAB and this is my last year as undergraduate. I will be doing my final degree project here in the ICMAB under the supervision of Arancha Gonzalez. I will be here until the end of June. I like playing saxophone and reading.
Hi, I'm Albert and I'm a chemist from Barcelona. I got my bachelor's degree in Chemistry in Barcelona (UB) and then I got my PhD in 2013 (ICMAB-UAB) under the supervision of Dr. Rosario Núñez. After spending more than 4 years and a half abroad, first as a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast and then as a Research Scientist at Green Lizard Technologies (Belfast, UK), I'm back to ICMAB to start a collaborative project with Dr. Rosario Núñez and Dr. Gerard Tobias to synthesise boron-enriched carbon nanomaterials as Theranostic Agents for biomedical imaging and BNCT. I like to watch movies and series, hanging out with my friends, playing videogames, travelling and practising sports, especially squash. See you around!
Helloo! I'm Niki Joosten from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. I study Molecular Life Sciences and I'm doing my master thesis about Microcontact printing. The project is a collaboration between the University of Wageningen, Bionanotechnology and ICMAB under the supervision of Arancha Gonzalez. I will stay at ICMAB for 4 months. I like to travel, play rugby and party :)
Hi, my name is Marc and I am a physicist from Barcelona. I did my bachelor's degree in Physics in Barcelona (UB) and I continued my studies by doing a master's degree in Physics in Berlin (Germany) (Freie Universität Berlin). I just started my phD in the field of Spintronics here in ICMAB in the Multifunctional Oxides and Complex Structures group. In my free time I like reading, traveling, rowing, skiing and spend time with my friends.
I look forward to meeting and collaborating with you, as also to spend good time together.
Hi, my name is Nerea.
I'm from Ourense, Galicia. I'm a graduate in chemistry by the USC. Currently I'm doing a master degree on Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the UAB.
I'll be doing my masters final thesis with the Nanomol group at ICMAB, in the field of molecular switches and rectifiers.
Hello everyone! I'm Mikko Kataja and I come from Finland, where I did my PhD in Aalto University on magneto-optically active plasmonic nanoparticles. I am now in ICMAB in Multifunctional Oxides and Complex Structures research group to explore the possibilities that active oxide materials, such as ferromagnetic and ferroelectric oxides, offer in the field of optics, especially for active nanoscale optical devices. In my freetime, I enjoy cooking and board games.
My name is Tony and I am a PhD student visiting from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. My research focuses around carboranyl ligands and I am here to extend my knowledge in the Texidor/Viñas group. When I am not allowed in the lab, I like to eat, bake, game and train.
