Hi, I am Halyna from Ukraine. I am right now in my last year of PhD in Paris, and coming here for a two-months visit. Before PhD, I studied in double-degree master on materials science in France/Germany. Here In ICMAB I am planning to grow thin films of ferroelectric perovskite oxides (BaTiO3 solid solutions), and to study their photovoltaic properties, making the comparison to ceramic samples of these materials.
I like travelling (both city tourism and hiking in nature), discovering ethnic dance, art etc., interested in history, pagan and oriental religions, and practices like yoga.
My name is Karen Lizzette Velásquez Méndez. I have a BSc in Chemistry from the National University of Colombia. Now, I'm a student of the Oficial Master in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine in the UAB.
In the ICMAB, I'm working in the Solid State Chemistry Research Group in the proyect "Synthesis and electronic properties of perovskite type oxynitrides" led by Dra. Amparo Fuertes. I like to meet new places and read in my free time.
My name is Sara Battista and I'm a PhD student at University of L'Aquila. I did my bachelor's degree in chemistry at University of Rome "La Sapienza" and my master's degree in Chemical Science (organic chemistry) at University of L'Aquila. I'm working on liposomes used to develop a sensor for dosing biomarker enzymes and to vehiculate natural substances with farmacological activity. Now I'm doing a period of three months at ICMAB with the Nanomol group to investigate our formulations using a different methodology to increase stability and selectivity of systems.
In my freetime I like to ski, sing and walk with my dog.
My name is Xiaodong Zhang and I come from Northeastern University in China. I had a background of Metallurgical engineering and did something about inorganic materials. Now I’m in the group of Crystallography of Magnetic and Electronic Oxide and Surfaces(CMEOS) under the guidance of Prof. José Luis García-Muñoz to extend my education career as a Ph.D. student. I’ll work on preparing different multiferroic oxides and analyzing their related properties. Hoping that I can do some novel and constructive work afterwards. In my spare time I like to play badminton, swimming, reading and travelling. I’d like to enjoy this new experience and spending good time with all of you!
