Luiz Pinto

Hello!


My name is Luiz Pinto, I'm from Portugal. I have recently completed my PhD in Science and Chemical Technology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in the Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS). I'll stay at ICMAB as post-doctoral researcher in the NANOMOL group under the supervision of Dr. José Vidal Gancedo. My work deals with the synthesis and study of organic radicals for high sensitivity NMR experiments (DNP-NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

ICMAB has been recognized with the prestigious "Severo Ochoa" Center of Excellence Award

The Institute will receive one million euros per year for the next four years to develop the research program “Smart FUNtional MATerials for social grand challenges” (FUNMAT). The grand challenges to be addressed are: Clean and secure energy, Smart and sustainable electronics and Smart nanomedicine.

This Excellence Award recognized the international leadership of the center and places ICMAB in the list of the top research centers in Spain.

Hello! My name is Siddhi Bianca Camila Lama. I'm from New York City, and I'm a PhD student with the MIT Portugal programme (joint degree between University of Lisboa and University of Aberdeen). Antonio Marcos Helgueira de Andrade (Teco)

Hello! My name is Antonio Marcos Helgueira de Andrade (Teco). I’m from Brazil and I’m Professor at UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul). I’ll stay at ICMAB for 1 year as Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Laboratory of Multifunctional Oxides and Complex Structures. I’m here with financial support by CAPES, Brazil. I'm Cristiano, I've got my master degree in Supramolecular chemistry in Italy at the University of Pavia. I've joined the ICMAB on July as a scholarship holder. Right now I'm working in the Superconducting Materials and Nanostructures at Large scale Group. My work deals with polymer assisted deposition of magnetic oxide films.

Anna May Masnou

Hi everyone! My name is Anna, and I hold a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology from the Universitat de Barcelona. My thesis focused on silica mesoporous materials and nanoparticles. I have entered the ICMAB to perform a postdoc at the Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites group, with Dr. Anna Roig. The idea is to work with bacterial cellulose and nanoparticles, to optimize the synthesis and nanostructure of novel composite materials, and to study some specific applications, such as photocatalysis or batteries. I'm really looking forward to it, and to share my next few years with the people at the ICMAB. Apart from science, I love to dance the lindy hop and travel around the globe!
