The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research centre for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. We perform cutting-edge research in the fields of matter and materials, energy and environment and human health. By performing fundamental and applied research, we work on sustainable solutions for major challenges facing society, science and economy. PSI is committed to the training of future generations. Therefore, about one quarter of our staff are post-docs, post-graduates or apprentices. Altogether PSI employs 1900 people.

In the framework of the international fellowship program with the acronym: “PSI-FELLOW-II-3i”, the PSI is inviting experienced researchers (Postdocs) from all over the world to submit their applications for research positions that are part of our new postdoctoral program. Our “3i or triple i” postdoctoral program offers unique opportunities for scientific and career development with international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral prospects. Our postdoctoral program is a Horizon2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Action.

The deadline for applications will be 20th December 2016.

    The prestigious Nature scientific journal celebrated its 150th anniversary on November 4, 2019. In order to commemorate it, the journal published a video on the role played by the journal in the history of science, and also prepared an interactive graph that explains the complex network created by the co-cited journal articles. More than 88,000 articles are published since 1900.

    The GoNano project organizes the winter school "Creating Social Value with Nanotechnology" on 4-7 February 2020 in Barcelona. The winter school is designed to impart the findings from the project to early stage researchers and to address concepts such as RRI, co-creation, and communication applied to nanotechnology. Deadline for registration is 30 November! Register now before it's too late!
