The International Conference On Phosphorus, Boron and Silicon – PBSi 2018 will take place in Barcelona on 10-12 December 2018. From chemistry to catalysis, materials, biology, and medicine, from theory to application, the main target of this conference is to gather Researchers and Experts in Phosphorus, Boron and Silicon community in order to provide all participants with the latest progress and inputs recorded in each field.
On 17-20 September ICMAB will host the MATENER 2018: Severo Ochoa Summer School on Materials for Energy. This summer school is addressed to last year undergraduate, master and PhD students, who are interested in the development of materials with energy applications, such as photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, batteries or superconducting materials.
The 69th Annual International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) Meeting will be held in Bologna, Italy, from 2 to 7 September 2018. The meeting will be hosted by the “Nuovo Polo Congressuale Bologna”.
The 6th International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association Conference (ISHA2018) will be held on August 8-12, 2018 in Sendai Japan. This conference will cover wide-variety topics on solvothermal and hydrothermal research, as well as some topics including food science, waste disposal, characterization techniques, origin of life, mathematics and simulation.
The 20th edition of the ICSNN (International Conference on Superlattices, Nanostructures and Nanodevices) will take place this year in Madrid between 23 and 27 July 2018. The ICSNN is a biennial conference series with a tradition lasting back to the 1980s, usually being the largest satellite conference to the International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (ICPS). The ICPS will be held in Montpellier (France) the week after ICSNN.
We are glad to announce that the 10th International Symposium on Nitrides (ISNT2019) will be held in Barcelona, Spain on June 9-14, 2019. Early registration and Abstract Submission starts on September 15, 2018 (Deadline: 24 January 2019).
After the success of the first edition in 2017 with more than 300 attendees, the second edition of BCNspiracy will taka place in CosmoCaixa Barcelona on 26-27 October 2018. This year, apart from the traditional talks BCNspiracy on science outreach, there will be a session on INspriacy (26 October), where secondary school students will have the opportunity to get inspired by young students who are studying their degree or are doing their PhD. On 27 October there will also be workshops and shows (PLAYspiracy) to show the interactive side of science, and a final networking event between speakers and audience, BEERspiracy.
The forthcoming International Symposium on Ferroic Domains (ISFD-14) is going to be held in Barcelona, at the “Casa de Convalescencia”, a UNESCO-listed modernist building a stone’s throw from the Sagrada Familia.
Hosted in this 14th edition by the ICN2, the International Symposium on Ferroic Domains (ISFD) has been held bi-annually since 1989, timed to fall between the International Meeting of Ferroelectricity and the European Meeting of Ferroelectricity. It serves both as a half-way stop between them and as a portent of what’s going to be hot in the next year’s highlight meeting of ferroelectricity. The research themes cover experimental and theoretical advances in our understanding of domains, domain walls, phase boundaries and other topological mobile structures. Scientific quality and originality are the sole criteria for selecting talks.
The next JEMS2018 conference will take place from the 3rd to 7th September 2018 in Mainz, Germany (https://jems2018.org/). It will host a symposium on “Magnetism and spintronics in molecular materials and carbon based systems”.
With a theme of ‘Molecular frontiers and global challenges’, the 7th EuCheMS Chemistry Congress features five days of scientific and technical sessions, plenary lectures, oral and poster communications, keynote speakers and roundtable discussions, as well as exceptional networking opportunities, an exhibition and a unique social programme.
Between 23 and 27 July 2018, the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander will host a new edition of the course "De la nanociencia a la nanotecnología: luces y sombras del control de la materia a escala atómica", coordinated by Pedro A. Serena and Agustina Asenjo from the Institue of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) and in which Anna Roig, from ICMAB, participates as lecturer.
The course is aimed at undergraduate students (third and fourth year) and master students, in the fields of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Materials Science, Nanoscience, and Engineering, etc. in order to guide their graduate training to studies in nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Join the18th International Conference on High Pressure Semiconductor Physics and the 2nd International Workshop on High Pressure Study of Superconductors (HPSP18 & WHS2) , that will be held at CosmoCaixa Museum (Barcelona) on 23-27 July 2018.
ICREA Research Professor at ICMAB, Alejandro Goñi, is a member of the Organizing Committee and responsible for hosting this event.
