Dr. Anna Laromaine, a researcher at ICMAB-CSIC, attended the NanoTech 2017 International Nanotechnology Fair in Japan, held in Tokyo from 15 to 17 February 2017, invited by the Presidency of the CSIC.

The CSIC's research in the field of nanosciences and especially the patents developed in this field by its centers were exhibited in a stand belonging to the ICEX (Exportation and investments of Spain). Dr Laromaine had the opportunity to present the patent "Method for the regeneration of plant tissues" developed by ICMAB-CSIC together with the CRAG (Agrigenomical Research Center) to several companies. Dr Javier Maira, Head of The Technology Marketing Unit of the CSIC of the Deputy Vice-President of Knowledge Transfer of the CSIC and Prof Pedro Serena, Delegate of the CSIC in the Community of Madrid also attended the fair at the ICEX stand.

The Nanotech 2017 fair included specialized companies and local and international research centers. According to Dr Laromaine "I was able to expand my network of contacts at this fair since I have known companies involved in the topics close to my research, especially those working with cellulose for various applications and many nanotechnology products currently being marketed".

Although this year the participation of local companies and research centers seemed greater than on other occasions, and the volume of business of the fair was not very high, Dr. Anna Laromaine believes that this experience has been enriching for her research.

Participación de la Dra Anna Laromaine en la Feria NanoTech 2017 en Tokio

La Dra Anna Laromaine, investigadora del ICMAB- CSIC,  ha asistido a la feria internacional de nanotecnología de Japón NanoTech 2017 que tuvo lugar en Tokio del 15 al 17 de febrero de 2017 (http://www.nanotechexpo.jp/), invitada por la Presidencia del CSIC.

Las investigaciones del CSIC en el campo de las nanociencias y especialmente las patentes desarrolladas en este campo en sus centros se exhibieron en un estand perteneciente al ICEX (Exportación e inversiones de España). La Dra Laromaine tuvo la oportunidad de presentar a diversas empresas la patente “Método para la regeneración de tejidos vegetales” desarrollada por el ICMAB-CSIC conjuntamente con el CRAG (Centre de Recerca en Agrigenomica) y estuvo acompañada por el Dr Javier Maira, Responsable de  la Unidad de Comercialización de Tecnologías del CSIC de la Vicepresidencia Adjunta de Transferencia de conocimiento del CSIC y por el Prof Pedro Serena, Delegado del CSIC en la Comunidad de Madrid.

La feria Nanotech 2017 incluía empresas especializadas y centros de investigación locales e internacionales. Dice la Dra Laromaine: “En esta feria he podido ampliar mi  red de contactos ya que he conocido empresas implicadas en los temas cercanos a mi investigación, especialmente las que trabajan con celulosa para diversas aplicaciones y de los productos de nanotecnología que se están comercializando actualmente”.

Aunque este año la participación de empresas y centros de investigación locales parecía mayor que en otras oportunidades, y el volumen de negocio de la feria no fue muy alto, la Dra Anna Laromaine considera que esta experiencia ha sido  enriquecedora para su investigación.
