Enric Canadell, Research Professor at the Materials and Theory Simulation Group, has been awarded by the University of Rennes 1 with the title Doctor Honoris Causa for his excellence research and the partnership he created with Rennes 1 laboratories. The ceremony was held on 31 March 2017.
Enric Canadell is a world specialist in the electronic structure of solids, both molecular and inorganic. His research has focused on understanding the relationships between the structure and the electronic properties of solids. His publications have approximately 8300 citations, with an h-index of 47. Before coming to ICMAB, he worked at the University of París-Sud (France), at the University of Chicago (USA), and at the University of Barcelona .
He has over 30 publications involving the Condensed Matter and Electroactive systems (MaCSE) team of the Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes (ISCR) in the field of molecular conductors, proving the strong collaboration with the University of Rennes 1.
Enric Canadell was supported by Marc Fourmigué, director of research at the CNRS, and Dominique Lorcy, professor at the University of Rennes 1, both members of the ISCR.
Piergiorgio Casavecchia, Professor at the University of Perugia (Italy), and Fernando Lopes da Silva, Emeritus Professor at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) have also been awarded with the Doctor Honoris Causa title in the same ceremony.
