Growing originally from the “1st Meeting of ICMAB Students” in 2011, the “Scientific Meeting of BNC-b Students" was established successfully as an organized networking and dissemination platform in its first three editions in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017. We are pleased to announce the comeback of the conference in 2019.

The "4th Scientific Meeting of BNC-b Students" is aimed to present the work performed by PhD students of the whole Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster – Bellaterra (ICMAB, ICN2, IMB-CNM, UAB, ALBA), promoting collaborations between them in an academic and scientific environment.

The event incorporates the entire framework of the UAB Research Park, as well as other universities as UB or UPC. Moreover, it is also opened to undergraduates, master students and the scientific community at large.

The meeting structure of the 4th edition will include the usual oral presentations and posters. Furthermore, we will invite high profile speakers to share with us their experience working in companies, as magazine editors or in the world of divulgation. They will also talk about the skills acquired during the PhD that can be useful outside the academic world, so this event represents a good chance to meet people who have already followed this path and who can give you good advice.

Here you will have the opportunity to meet other PhD students, and share your experience and research from different nanoscience areas.

Topics

The program is organized into different topics, all related to the "nano universe", allowing you to focus on your specialty as well as expand your knowledge in other areas. Attendees will be able to learn from over 50 different researches, including oral sessions, poster presentations, invited speakers and a round table, and also have fun with some monologues related with the scientific world.

Format

The speakers will have 10-15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes to answer possible questions. The talks will be in English. Don't worry if you don't have a good level, the best place to practice is this friendly environment

The best oral and poster presentations at the conference will be prized. They will be judged during the sessions and prizes & certificates will be delivered to the winners during the conclusion of the meeting.
