In this talk and subsequent discussion, I´d like to share what I´ve learned from 3 years working as coordinator of the Materials for Energy and Environment subarea of the Research State Agency (Agencia Estatal de Investigación, AEI). In order to illustrate how the AEI works, I will first explain how the evaluation of two of the major calls work, first the Knowledge Generation (previously known as “Plan Estatal”) and then, the Ramón y Cajal program. I will list some of the typical positive and negative comments that projects and applications receive, which can serve as dos and don´ts in your future applications. I will also briefly mention important issues in the justification of the projects for the progress/final reports. After that, my intention is to leave enough time for discussion on general aspects, question and answers.
Research Professor at the NANOPTO group, working in fundamental properties and applications of organic semiconductors in organic solar cells and thermoelectric generators. He has been for 3 years coordinator of the Materials for Energy and Environment subarea at the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) (Research State Agency).
