Copenhagen, 22-26 MAY 2018: MagMeet 2018 12th International Conference on the Scientific and Clinical Applications of Magnetic Carriers
We are pleased to welcome members of the magnetic particle research community to the 12th International Conference on the Scientific and Clinical Applications of Magnetic Carriers (MagMeet 2018 for short). This meeting will be held in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference starts with a reception on Tuesday night, May 22 and ends on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in the afternoon.
Prof. Anna Roig, ICMAB researcher at the NN group will give an Invited Talk on "Magnetic Nanocapsules for Brain Repair after a Stroke". Dr. Roig's group focuses on the controlled and rational synthesis of inorganic and hybrid (inorganic-organic) nanoparticles and nanocomposites and the study of their structural-functional properties. Even more important to them are applications in the fields of nanomedicine and the information technology. In this invited talk, Anna will speak about their newest endeavour into cell-free therapy for neurorepair. They encapsulate full cell-secretomes into magnetic and fluorescent polymer capsules and observe their grafting into the brain.
Topics of MagMeet 2018
This conference is devoted to magnetic microspheres and nanoparticles in basic and clinical research and will cover;
- Preparation and characterization of magnetic particles and ferrofluids
- In vitro applications:
- specific extraction and separation of cells and other molecules
- stem cell research
- high-throughput analysis
- Nanotechnology, lab-on-a-chip, and ultrasensitive magnetic bioassays
- Clinical applications:
- magnetic drug delivery
- magnetic fluid hyperthermia
- MR imaging, nuclear medicine
- cancer treatment
- artificial organs
- magnetic blood detoxification
Call for Abstracts
Abstract online submission for talks and posters is now active. We encourage researchers to write a short (maximum one page) abstract about their work in the field of magnetic particles, and to submit it online as a PDF.
The deadline for abstract submission isSunday, March 18, 2018 at midnight Vancouver time. A template for the abstract is available here. Pictures are encouraged. Graduate students will also be able to apply for a travel grant during submission of the abstract. Please visit http://magneticmicrosphere.com/meeting-twelfth for details and more information about the meeting.
Early registration is now available online. Like always, it includes a reception (on Tuesday, May 22), all lunches, a boat trip, a wonderful conference dinner at the Carlsberg brewery and mansion, beverages and snacks during the breaks.
The final program will be made from your submissions and will be available on April 1, 2018, with your most up-to-date research. However, we can already announce the invited speakers. Please check them out.
