15 January 2018: Kickoff of the Feynman Year 2018 - Feynman Total

Richard P. Feynman was born on 11 May 1918. This new year 2018 would be his centenary, and to commemorate it, EspaiNANO, the group from the Catalan Association fos Scientific Communication for the Communication and Outreach of Nanotechnology, has organized a variety of activities and events. ICMAB also collaborates in the organization of this celebration, called FeynmanTotal

The first event of this celebration will be on Monday 15 January, at 7 pm, with the talk on "Feynman: Nobel, bongos and topless" by Claudi Mans, which will be held at the Biblioteca Vila de Gràcia. This will be the first of a series of 8 talks that will take place in different libraries of Barcelona, within the cycle "Visions de Ciència: Feynman i l'evolució de la ciència al segle XX". The full program, which includes sessions from Xavier Giménez, Guillermo Orts-Gil, Daniel Arbós, Víctor F. Puntes, Toni Pou, Jordi Díaz, and Xavier Roqué is found here

The central activity will take place on 11 May 2018, the day of Feynman's birthday, with a seminar from Prof. David Kaiser, American physicist and historian of science specialist in Feynman. On 9 May 2018, Prof. Keiser will also give a talk at Campus UAB.
