In July, two Baccalaureate students were hosted at ICMAB. Their stay is part of the three-year Joves i Ciència programme, which aims to encourage students to pursue scientific careers.

The #JPhD2025, an event entirely organised by PhD fellows, took place between the 12th and the 14th of November, 2025 at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC). It was a great success in participation, with nearly 100 participants, and scientific networking.

The 8th edition was held at the University of Barcelona (UB) in collaboration with other research institutions, such as the CCiTUB, the ICN2 and the UAB.

On 22 October 2025, the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), ubicated at the UAB Campus, will host the Workshop on Experimental Techniques for Biomedicine (BIOMED 2025).
During the month of July, four students from the Fundació La Pedrera programme Joves i Ciència carried out a research stay at ICMAB, with complementary activities to understand how research is conducted and how it impacts society.

From 16 to 22 September 2025, ICMAB will participate in the European Mobility Week, an EU initiative that promotes sustainable urban mobility and encourages behavioural change in favour of active, clean, and shared transport.
For yet another year, in 2025, ICMAB has hosted six students from UAB’s Argó Programme. Once again, UAB has offered high school students the opportunity to carry out a research stay either at the university or at one of the research centers on the UAB Campus, giving them a chance to discover the kind of work typically carried out in laboratories, departments, or research institutes.
