A senior African women researcher will develop a research project during a 6-month stay at ICMAB.
The Fundación Mujeres por África (FMxA)(Women for Africa Foundation) is partnering with the Spanish ‘Severo Ochoa’ and other Centers of Excellence to bring the Science by Women programme to fruition. The project intends to host women researchers from African countries, so they can benefit from these research internships to promote and lead the scientific innovation that contributes to tackling the great challenges faced by African countries through research in health and biomedicine, sustainable agriculture and food security, water, energy and climate change.
A new internal competitive call for Frontier Interdisciplinary Projects (FIP) within the Severo Ochoa "Smart Functional Materials for a Better Future" (FUNFUTURE) is now open. The call, open to all ICMAB researchers, either individually or collaborative, has two modalities: “Exploration of novel ideas and methodologies” and “Proof-of-concept”. Deadline is 3 October 2021.
ICMAB is part of the NFFA-Europe Pilot (NEP) project, which provides researchers across Europe with a wide array of scientific and technical services to characterize and prepare nanomaterials, Applications for access can be sent in until 1 September 2021 to enter the first call. Improving society's science knowledge and promoting citizen participation in R&D&I-related processes is the aim of Cuenta la Ciencia, a Fundación General CSIC (FGCSIC) programme that has just opened its fourth edition. On this occasion, the call includes an extra line with additional funding to promote actions with a topic related to COVID-19.
