Abstract:
The study of the structural and electronic properties of TiO2 (001) anatase surfaces requires highly crystalline samples suitable for advanced surface characterization techniques, such as diffraction and photoemission under operando conditions.
The main objectives of this project is to gain a deep understanding of the growth process of anatase (001) thin films to produce large and ordered surface terraces to be used as model systems. Heteroepitaxial growth of anatase with ferroelectric (FE) films is also of interest to increase the lifetime of photocarriers in surface anatase films.
