The Nature Research Chemistry Community, a forum for sharing wider discussion, ideas and experiences, invited M. Rosa Palacín, the corresponding author of the paper, to contribute a retrospective style blog post on the paper "Towards a calcium-based rechargeable battery" published in Nature Materials in 2016. The idea was to know what happened since the paper was published, how it was received, how the research in that area has changed or developed, and how did it impact important research decisions or initiate new collaborations.
This article by M. Rosa Palacín has now been published in the #IYPT2019 special "2019 is the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements" and is entitled like the manuscript "Towards a calcium-based rechargeable battery".
To celebrate the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, Nature editors have curated research papers, commentaries and multimedia from Nature and the Nature Research journals. You can dive in to find out what connects sodium with Sri Lanka, how many times astatine was discovered and where the White House got its name... And much more!
Each element in the Interactive Periodic Table showcases important and interesting papers chosen by the Nature Materials editors from 150 years of original research published in Nature and the Nature Research journals. All of the research papers listed in the interactive are free to access for 2019. For Calcium, the chosen papers are:
