The survey, titled "Survey on the use of private vehicles and public transport at the ICMAB", was open from June to September 2025. It had a total of 167 participants from ICMAB, travelling to ICMAB from all over Catalonia.

Most of them think that they have a good combination of public transport to come to ICMAB. The huge majority of these people actually use public transportation to come to ICMAB every day. Among the reasons ICMABers offer as to why they don't have good public transportation, are bus overoccupation, bus and train times and schedules and difficult transport combinations.

What modes of transportation do you use to get to work at ICMAB during a typical week?

The ICMABers that come to ICMAB by private vehicle ask for solutions to these mentioned issues in order for them to use public transportation. Amongst the solutions and proposals is improving the bus and trains lines (both the infrastructure and the schedules, and having more service in order to avoid overoccupation). It is worth noting that the majority of people that answered that they are coming to ICMAB by private vehicle are willing to switch to public transportation or coming by bicycle. Some solutions proposed to use the bicycle are making more bicycle lanes at the UAB campus and the surroundings or making the route in the road safer.

Overall, these are results that we celebrate, showing that we keep working towards a more sustainable ICMAB!
