Contrary to what many might think, publishing open access does not require researchers or their institutions to pay article processing charges (APCs) or other related publishing fees or to spend time administering contracts and other administrative tasks related to publishing.
In this talk, I will present the diamond-open-access publication model – an equitable and well-established route for researchers to publish open access with no fees for their universities and without detracting resources from their research funding.
As managing editor, it is my pleasure to present the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology (BJNANO) to the Barcelona Materials Science Institute community. The BJNANO is a scholar-led nonprofit journal fully funded by the Beilstein-Institut, a charitable foundation based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is my goal here to understand what the community wants and needs so we can keep improving our journal toward the interests of the scientists.
