H2CAT Network visits ICMAB

Three members of the H2CAT Network visited the ICMAB laboratories that participate in this network.

On the 9th of July 2024 ICMAB received a visit of members of the H2CAT Network. The H2CAT network is an initiative coordinated by Eurecat in collaboration with the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research, the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and Rovira Virgili University in collaboration with other entities and institutions committed to sustainability and the potential of green hydrogen, ICMAB amongst them.

The Catalan H2CAT Network brings together the main Catalan research groups in the green hydrogen sector to carry out programmes for the valorisation and transfer of research and development results in the green hydrogen value chain in Catalonia.

The network consolidates a scientific-technological model to drive it towards innovation and scalability to its reference industries in order to position Catalonia as a world leader in green hydrogen, not only in the generation of knowledge and the development of solutions, but also in the creation of a transfer ecosystem between research and the productive, social and commercial environment in the field of green hydrogen.

This network will be the key element for improving the competitiveness of the energy, industrial and transport sectors, among others, motivating the deployment of a low-emission society and territory.

The laboratories visited at ICMAB were:

  • Supercritical Fluids and Functional materials ( Conchi Domínguez i Ana López)
  • Nanostructured interfaces for electrochemical energy storage (Dino Tonti)
  • EMOLMAT (Marta Mas i Núria Crivillers)
  • Laser (Ángel Pérez)
