ICMAB, present at the XX Fira d'Empreses

The Fira d'Empreses is a yearly opportunity for students to connect with companies and institutions involved in activities related to the studies they are pursuing. From this student–company interaction, opportunities such as a scholarship, an agreement for an external internship, or a job contract may arise.

For another year, ICMAB participated at the Fira d'Empreses of the Universitat de Barcelona, this year arriving at its XXth edition. The event started by a talk given by Joan Guàrdia, University of Barcelona president.

This fair provides a fantastic opportunity for students is to train their transversal (soft) skills, such as designing and presenting a strong CV, performing well in a job interview, and more. Another key opportunity for students is to participate in activities organized with company representatives, visit their facilities, and talk with the professionals who work there.

The Business Fair also serves as a platform for researchers from research groups to establish collaboration and knowledge-transfer relationships. It represents an effort to overcome the university–industry barrier and to promote technological transfer, which is highly relevant for the future.

This year, Miquel Galindo, from the KTU, and Dolors Grillo, from the Talent Office of the SPU, represented ICMAB at the Business Fair of the University of Barcelona (UB), which took place on March 25 2026.

There was a large number of attendees, and they were visited by students from different degree programs (chemistry, physics, biotechnology, materials engineering, etc.). They explained the research carried out at ICMAB and the opportunities available to come and conduct research there as well as what the strategic units offer, for example.
