ICMAB contribution to AMatS 2025, the Advanced Materials in Spain Conference held at UAB Campus

From November 24 to 26, 2025, the 4th Conference on Advanced Materials in Spain (AMatS 2025) took place at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) campus, bringing together the leading research lines in Advanced Materials from Spain and around the world.

More than 10 Communications from ICMAB Researchers

The fourth edition of the Conference on Advanced Materials in Spain counted with the participation of different members of the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC). Among them, there were Ignasi FinaDean KosMercedes Linares-Moreau, and Arántzazu González-Campo delivered oral communications.

Several PhD students also attended the conference. Among whom Javeria Ismaeel and Alejandro Cuesta Troyano, who presented their research in poster communications. Researchers Esther Barrena, Daniel Martín Jiménez, Imen Tbessi, Mónica Benito, and Kashaf Ahsan also delivered poster communications.

Three Days, Two Events, One Campus

The first day of the conference coincided with the inauguration of InCAEM (In situ Correlative Facility for Advanced Energy Materials), a new cutting-edge infrastructure designed to test materials for the energy transition under real operating conditions.

Open to the entire scientific and industrial communities and located at the ALBA Synchrotron, InCAEM has been created under the coordination of several leading research centers at the Bellaterra Campus: the ALBA Synchrotron, the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), and the Scientific Information Port (IFAE-PIC).

What made this conference especially valuable was the inherent collaborative spirit present in many research projects: the union of Aragón, Catalunya, Castilla-León, Comunitat Valenciana, Madrid, Basque Country and Castilla-La Mancha for a common advanced infrastructure, and the interweaving of different scientific specialities to create the materials of tomorrow. A perfect opportunity to get up to date in Advance Materials and network!

The fourth edition of the conference was promoted by the Complementary Plan on Advanced Materials (Planes Complementarios de Materiales Avanzados).
