For the fourth consecutive year, the Reseach and Outreach Doctorate Conference was held in the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. More than 200 people participated in the event, which included 87 posters and 53 research outreach presentations. The award for Best Talk went to Lluís Casabona-Cendra for his presentation on organic transistors, their properties and applications, and the research he is conducting in this field.

Since the beginning of his PhD, Lluís has been actively involved in many outreach activities, from school visits to ICMAB to this year's ICMAB participation at 10alamenys9 Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Fair. He also took part in the "Shoot your PhD" program by La Caixa. This award encourages him to continue pursuing both his research and outreach activities, which mutually reinforce one another.
The event also counted with the keynote lecture "Dramatis Doctorandus", by Mohamed Amazian El Moussaoui, an actor who has appeared in several television series and stage productions, and who has combined his acting career with an industrial PhD in the Engineering and Applied Sciences doctoral programme.
