Mariana Köber, a research scientist at the Nanomol group of CIBER-BBN at ICMAB-CSIC, participated as a roundtable panelist at BioSpain2023, one of the largest international biotechnology events in southern Europe. This year, the event was held in Barcelona from 26 to 28 September.

On Wednesday, 27 September, Köber was part of a roundtable discussion that focused on "Technologies in Viral & Non-viral Gene Therapy Vectors." Together with Avencia Sanchez-Mijias, CEO of Integra Therapeutics, and María Jesus Vicent, a research scientist at Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe (CIPF) and principal investigator of Polymer Therapeutics Laboratory - CIBERONC, they explored the latest advancements in gene therapy vectors. The discussion centered on different vector technologies for promising gene therapies and showcased the technological capabilities of the Spanish biotech ecosystem in the development of advanced therapy medicinal products.

The roundtable was moderated by Ramón Martínez, a full professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Scientific Director of CIBER-BBN.
