Today, November 25, in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and equitable environment for everyone, every day.
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, ICMAB reaffirms its unwavering commitment to promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all. As a community dedicated to knowledge, innovation, and scientific progress, we recognise that true advancement is only possible when every person is able to work, learn, and thrive free from violence and discrimination.
It is essential to acknowledge that violence against women is not confined to any one sociocultural background or socioeconomic setting. It is a global issue that can arise in any context—including academic and research environments—and its prevention requires continuous vigilance, education, and collective responsibility.
Today, and every day, we call on our entire community to maintain and strengthen awareness, to challenge harmful behaviours and attitudes, and to foster a culture of respect, equality, and accountability. Through our daily actions, we can contribute to a safer workplace and help put an end to all forms of violence against women.
