Prof. Teresa Puig and the SUMAN group spreading the knowledge on superconductivity at the UAB

Prof. Teresa Puig, from the SUMAN group (Superconducting Materials and Large Scale Nanostructures) was invited to give a talk on superconducting materials at “Dissabtes de la Física” on Saturday, 24 February 2018, at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. More than 100 secondary school students listened to her talk (10:00 am, Sala d'actes).

On 21 March 2018, Teresa gave the talk "La superconductivitat: un fenomen quàntic que està contribuint al canvi energètic" (Superconductivity: a quantum phenomenon that is contributing to the energy change) at the Facultat de Ciències of the UAB, in an event organized by the Catalan Association of Physics Students (Associació Catalana d'Estudiants de Física) (12:15 pm, C3/022).

The "Dissabtes de la Física" included an experimental part with the students, in which they could expereince the properties of the superconducting materials, such as the levitating phenomena, or the zero resistance to electrical current. Some members of the SUMAN group were in charge of these experiments (Dr. Xavier Granados, Dra. Cornelia Pop, Dr. Joffre Gutiérrez, Dr. Pedro Barosco and Dr. Max Sieger).
