Science outreach returns to Barcelona neighbourhoods with the second edition of 'Ciència Km. 0'
Researchers from ICMAB will take part this spring in the new edition of Ciència Km. 0, a science outreach programme organised by Barcelona City Council and CSIC.
Following the success of the first edition last autumn, which featured a series of 10 talks in 10 different civic centres, a new edition of the Ciència Km. 0 outreach programme is now launching. Promoted by Barcelona City Council and CSIC, the programme brings together several CSIC research centres, including ICMAB, which is once again taking part.
Through this new programme, which covers a wide range of topics, from assistive robotics and the many applications of microchips to the music of our memory, the aim is to bring science closer to neighbourhoods that usually have limited access to science outreach activities. The initiative builds on the interests of local communities, using science as a tool for social cohesion.
