The “Valida la teva Recerca” programme offers tools to approach the transference to the market.
Despite the fact that Spain is the 5th country in European rankings on scientific production and the 12th in the world, companies in Spain hardly ever approach the national structure of research when looking for R&D services (about 5.5 %).
The “Valida la teva Recerca” (Validate your Research) programme is trying to challenge this, by giving researchers the proper tools to introduce themselves into the technology transference ecosystem. This programme is organized by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the UAB Research Park (PRUAB), a non-profit organization created by the UAB, the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Institute of Research and Technology (IRTA) to promote the research done at the UAB Campus and its internal collaboration.
The main objectives of this programme are to help researchers validate their technology through creativity and lean start up methodologies, to optimize the impact of their technology through design thinking, to accelerate the process to find collaborators and funding, and to introduce researchers to the ecosystem.
The programme has two phases:
It starts on April 19 and 20, with two days of online training. During these, researchers will apply creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills to their own projects:
Five of the projects discussed on phase one will advance to phase two, receiving 5 mentoring sessions through 5 weeks, with the objective of orienting the best possible hypothesis and to find the most appropriate market application of the project.
