The BRIGHT-GUIDE and ULTRACELL projects close the 2024 Indústria del Coneixement program with Investor Day

Last week, Investor Day was held—the closing event of the 2024 Knowledge Industry (Indústria del Coneixement, IdC) program promoted by AGAUR. The event, aimed at bringing research-based transfer projects closer to the market, took place at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).

The event brought together participating teams in a session of presentations with a strong market-oriented focus, addressed to investors and various stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem. The day’s program also included institutional and outreach speeches, as well as the presentation of certificates to participants of the training associated with the IdC.

In this edition, the program supported two ICMAB projects under the Product modality, which exemplify the potential of research to generate social and economic impact. On the one hand, BRIGHT-GUIDE focuses on the development of a fluorescent agent for image-guided oncological surgery, with the aim of improving surgical precision. On the other hand, ULTRACELL is focused on the advanced manufacturing of high–energy-density supercapacitors for more efficient energy management.

As part of the presentations, Dr. Arevik Musheghyan delivered the pitch for the ULTRACELL project to an audience composed of investors, technology transfer experts, and representatives of the innovation ecosystem.

The Knowledge Industry program promoted by AGAUR is specifically designed to foster technology transfer projects, with the goal of maturing research-derived technologies and bringing them closer to the market and society. In this context, at ICMAB we reaffirm our commitment to technology transfer and innovation, ensuring that research generates tangible and sustainable impact—a strategic priority led by the Knowledge Transfer Unit.
