During nine sessions, wihtin the "Nanotechnology and social challenges" course, the reseachers Xavier Obradors and Gerard Tobias, from the ICMAB, and Belén Ballesteros from the ICN2, have shown the participants the basics of nanomaterials and their applications, in the fields of energy, environment, information technologies, and medicine.

In this last session, they visited first the ICMAB and then the ICN2, and some of their scientific and technical services. In a past session, the students could also visit the ALBA Synchrotron.
At the ICMAB, the participants could visit the Low Temperatures and Magnetometry Lab, with Bernat Bozzo, the Pulse Laser Deposition (PLD) equipment, with Josep Fontcuberta, and the Nanoquim Platform, with Neus Romà, after a first introduction by Xavier Obradors and Belén Ballesteros.

The course also includes sessions on neuroscience, music, nutrition, history, arts... with the objective of offering a broad view of knowledge in diferent fields.
We hope they enjoyed the visit!
