During the Science Week (Setmana de la Ciència) 2019, which was between the 8 and 17 of November 2019, the ICMAB received the visit of 4 schools, which amounted a total of 185 students. The students could attend the "Madame Châtelet and her Instagram followers", visit some of our labs and participate in the workshops about "Properties of the Minerals and Periodic Table Elements".
We received the visit of the students of 3rd and 4th ESO of the Jaume Viladoms School (Sabadell). They could see the dramatised reading "Madame Châtelet and her Instagram followers" and then visit the following labs: Pulsed Laser Deposition (with Raúl Solanas), Low Temperatures and Magnetometry (with Bernat Bozzo), X-ray diffraction lab (with Anna Crespi, Joan Esquius and F. Xavier Campos) and the monocrystal lab (with Elies Molins). A total of 60 students from Sabadell came! Thanks to Roger Soria for coming!
We received the visit of the students from 1st BTX from the Institut Can Mas (Ripollet). The students received a short talk about the ICMAB and nanotechnology from Anna May, and then visited the Nanoquim Platform (with Marta Gerbolés) and the Soft Lab (with David Piña). This class was formed by 25 students. The students had visited the ALBA Synchrotron beforehand, and some of them also visited the ICN2. Thanks to Rosa Manau for contacting us!
We received the visit of four classes of 2nd ESO of Institut Vallès (Sabadell). They could enjoy the dramatised reading "Madame Châtelet and her Instagram followers" and then did the workshops about the properties of minerals and the periodic table elements with Anna Crespi and Judith Oró. Two classes of 25 students came every day, so we had 50 students per day, 100 students in total! Thanks to Esther Górriz for contacting us and coming with the little ones!
