Tuesday 12th of May and Wednesday 13th of May
The SAB is composed of 10 worldwide scientific experts in the areas of the targeted research of our Severo Ochoa project: "Materials Transition for Tomorrow’s World” (Matrans42). The ICMAB renewed for the third time consecutively the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence certificate on 2025 for four more years (2025-2028) with this project.
In this year's SAB Meeting, we will evaluate the three Research Lines at ICMAB, additionally to other topics such as genre or talent management at ICMAB:
- M4NRG: Materials for Energy
- M4ELC: Materials for Electronics
- M4HTH: Materials for Health
The coordinators of all 3 Research Line will present the main highlights of each line, and some researchers will present in 12-min talks more in detail some of their most relevant highlights.

Thursday 14th of May
This will be a day to celebrate the science we do at ICMAB. With a day full of talks, seminars, debates and round-tables, it will be a day to remember!
We will have several speakers from different countries. But the day will start, after our Director's opening, with a talk by former Director Xavier Obradors, who will talk about ICMAB's impact.
Then it will be the turn of several speakers, who will talk about topics and research being done at ICMAB. We will combine speakers from abroad with ICMAB Early Stage Researchers!

Friday 15th of May
Finally, on the 15th of May 2026, we will celebrate our anniversary.
We will start the day with hot chocolate and some sweets. After having breakfast, there will be a moment to remember: during all morning, we will have talks (and a video!) about the 40 years history of ICMAB. This is going to be followed by a guided visit at ICMAB, which is sure to become very emotional!
After having lunch, we will have our typical ICMAB anniversary activities: boardgames, game of go, the ping pong tournament and a musical bingo!

A 40 years of history exhibit!
On that same week we will inaugurate an exhibit at the ICMAB hall about the history of ICMAB. We will have photos, covers, articles, and the winners of our traditional photo competition, FOTICMAB!
