The 2021 edition of the Emerging DOC-FAM School will be a hybrid edition, from June 28 to July 2. A week of outstanding online plenary lectures, technical talks, direct interactions with the lecturers, talks from the DOC-FAM fellows and a face-to-face poster presentation at the ICMAB on a sunny (hopefully) summer afternoon (!).
The lectures will cover research on energy, electronics, and health, as well as technical talks, covering different techniques that are relevant to materials science. In additon, there will be transversal talks exploring how this field interacts with other relevant environments, such as art or ethics. They will be given by local and international lecturers, amongst which you can find researchers, professors, editors, and directives. You can already find the confirmed names on the website, and there are many more to come!
The Emerging DOC-FAM School (EMERGING2021) is coordinated by ICMAB in the context of the Doctoral Training Programme in Functional Advanced Materials (DOC-FAM) project (H2020-MSCA-COFUND-2016), which offers an excellence training programme in the bourgeoning field of Functional Advanced Materials through an interdisciplinary, intersectorial and international approach. This programme complements the FUNFUTURE programme, ICMAB’s second recognition as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence.
Despite this being an online training school, there will be some interactive sessions and activities to encourage the networking and the interaction between participants and lecturers, as well as a "live" poster session where the young researchers will be able to present their research. We recommend to follow the talks on real-time, to be able to enjoy these perks, although the sessions will be recorded and available to all students.
The school is open to registration from interested young researchers from around the world, especially those doing their PhD. Attendance is limited to 85 participants, so register now!
