Celebrate February 11, Day of Women and Girls in Science, with the PRBB Wikimarathon

On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11), our center is joining an initiative coordinated by the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), to which we would like to invite you to participate.

The activity is an edit-a-thon, organized together with the Viquidones Space from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and Amical Wikimedia, which will take place in a hybrid format (at the PRBB and via Zoom) on February 11, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.

The goal is to close the gender gap on Wikipedia and to advocate for and make visible women in science. We will do this by editing Wikipedia—creating, translating, or improving pages about women’s contributions to science.

The Wikimarathon is open to everyone, and no prior experience is required—expert staff will be available to assist—and anyone can edit in the language of their choice and for as long as they want. You can register here and already choose the articles you want to help with.

The session will be on Tuesday, February 11 at 5:00 PM:

  • In-person: in the Marie Curie Room at PRBB ·
  • Online, in the following link.
We encourage you to participate and contribute your part in closing the gender gap on Wikipedia!
