1. ICMAB - Bi(o)lateral Day ICMAB and IBB: Unleashing Innovation and collaborations at the Intersection of Bio and Materials

The ICMAB – IBB Bi(o)lateral Day aimed to foster collaboration between both centers in the field of bio lines and scientific services.

2.ICMAB - Three new Ramón y Cajal grants for outstanding researchers at ICMAB!

We were thrilled to announce that three researchers had been awarded Ramón y Cajal grants. Muling Zeng (Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites group) and Judit Morlà (Nanomol-Bio group) are currently at ICMAB, while Ekaterina Khestanova (Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites group) joined us from another research center. Congratulations to all of them!

3.ICMAB - Science by Women launches its 11th edition: fellowships for African women researchers

The Women for Africa Foundation announced the opening of the 11th edition of the Science by Women program, a pioneering initiative promoting African women’s leadership in scientific research through fellowships at Spanish centres of excellence.

4.ICMAB - ICMAB joins SOMMa’s call for urgent climate action based on science and social consensus

As a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence and member of the SOMMa alliance, ICMAB-CSIC joined the urgent call for climate action. We stand together with the Spanish scientific community to stress that tackling the climate emergency requires a long-term, stable, and consensus-based national policy, grounded in scientific knowledge and evidence.

5.ICMAB - Progress of high temperature superconductors and their applications reviewed by members of the SUMAN research group

Members of the Superconducting Materials Department at ICMAB published an extended review on the state of the art of large-scale applications of superconductivity and two roadmaps addressing future directions in the development of superconducting cables and nanomaterials for quantum technologies

7.ICMAB - All the ICMAB activities at the European Researchers' Night 2025

The European Researchers' Night, one of the largest science outreach events in Europe, returned on September 26, 2025. Once again, ICMAB took part in this great opportunity to celebrate science and innovation, with activities for all the publics.

9.ICMAB - New cover on the Journal of Materials Chemistry C on brominated trityl radical nanoparticles

ICMAB researchers reported a new family of brominated organic radical nanoparticles (Br-ONPs) that exhibit high colloidal stability, sizes below 130 nm, and dual emission under a single excitation. This study was featured on the cover of the Journal of Materials Chemistry C.
